Alright, so I finally took care of my stuttering problem. It was real simple, my god father hadn’t tightened the coil pack bolts down so the coil packs were loose, and when hitting boost they were loosing connection but anyway, tightened them down like they’re suppose to be and problem solved.
I haven’t done much with the car in the last few months, but I got pretty tired of my raggedy speakers. They’re the originals so they didn’t sound great and my driver door was half blown, so I decided it was finally time to do the stereo.
I retired my old Alpine that I’ve been using for the past 5 years in my cars and replaced it with a ricer flip out monitor, a Pioneer AVH-P6300BT. It does all the fancy shit, bluetooth, pandora, direct iPod link, hd radio, netflix, gps, etc etc.

Installed

and closed

For those of you who haven’t seen my car, my alpine was actually tucked away in the glove box.

and the dash was just gauges and a pocket

So its definitely weird having a radio there now, but soooo much easier to change songs and stuff lol. It was getting pretty old having to lean over and open the glove box to control the music, especially with passengers.
Then I replaced the oem speakers with Pioneer TS-D1720C component speakers. No install pics because the door cards weren’t cut like they usually are for miatas so you can’t see the speakers or crossovers, you can see the tweeters however but I’m sure you guys know what tweeters look like installed. lol

At high volume the door cards actually produce clapping noises which sound awful, so once I get some speaker grills(the shop through them away since they didn’t use them) I will be cutting out the door card to expose the speakers so it won’t make that awful noise anymore.
I also have a Pioneer 10” Shallow Mount TS-SW251 Subwoofer and Pioneer GM Digital Class-D GM-7500M Amplifier that are going to be going in for the added bass, but I am currently waiting for a custom package tray box to be made. Once thats done, in the sub and amp will go.
Overall I’m really happy with the final product. The sound is a million times better than stock and with the sub it will only get better. I wasn’t going for loudness with this setup and more quality of sound, but I’ve heard that little 10” in another car and it was pretty damn loud for what it was lol. The only thing I have to get use to is when the screen open/closes, I have to make sure the shifter is in 2nd, 4th or reverse because the screen will hit it if anywhere else. I could downgrade to a normal shift knob and not have to worry about it, but wheres the fun in that?
